You’ve probably been too busy tossing off to pwitty grafix in titles such as Uncharted 2 and Modont Carefare 2 to notice what the little white gimmick-box of last-gen has been up to – so here’s a list of games actually worth your pathetic time:

1) Boy and his Blob

Cutesy re-imagining of a 1989 NES title of the same name. A side-scrolling platform game that’s well animated and ferociously difficult. Controls can be fiddly, but thank fuck there’s no motion control.

2) Muramasa: The Demon Blade

Cutesy homage to side-scrolling titles of the NES era. Beautifully animated, and full of content. Controls can be a problem, but thank fucking fuck there’s no motion control.

3) New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Cutesy sequel to the 1985 NES title of similar name. Classically animated with all the nostalgic charm of a old rusty Meccano set. Controls are dead simple, and there’s practically no motion control (thank fuck).
